Thanks to a grant from Verizon, children in grades 3-12 will learn how to use technology in ways that benefit them and the community at large. Specifically, program participants will learn how to use search engines and software programs such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. The children will also learn how to design web pages and more!
The goal of the program is to enhance each participant's computer knowledge and to aid each participant in his/her academic, career and community pursuits. The students are assessed at various times throughout the program to monitor their progress as well as the success of the program.
A dedicated team has been assembled to administer the curriculum. The team includes technology experts, New York State certified teachers and local college students.
The technology lab, located at 94 Herkimer Street in Albany, New York, will also be open to adults at various times.
